I am considering the OFF- version

Can anyone tell me if the blade has a normal size/shape head and handle?

It looks to have very, very high control for an OFF- blade according to megaspin's ratings, but is this really true or just a flaw in their control numbers?

I've also seen comments where people say its slow, yet its speed ratings are high.   Which is correct?

I cannot comment on it at length because I have not played with it that much, but a good friend of mine uses it, and I have had the opportunity to hit with it.  He has thors and h3 on it.  It felt really good to me.  The speed and control are both excellent.  I play with the bomb, which is off -, and this blade felt familiar to me.  I could switch to it.  So, yeah.  The off - is off enough.  Control felt great too.

I have the Temper OFF- and Yasaka Extra.

The Temper has a very hard outer ply (walnut). It feels like the popular Koto outer plies in playing characteristics - hard and sharp. Not my taste, personally.

Temper OFF- is probably a bit faster than YE. Even though it feels quite hard and sharp, it still flexes a lot and generates good spin and loops. 

Build quality is excellent. This blade does not need to be treated with minwax :) Very strong and smooth surface, amost like glass to the touch. Head looks pretty, handle is kinda cheapish. 

Control is excellent.

I still don't like playing with it. If you like this sharp feel just go for carbon..

I used the TemperTech ALL+ for a month or so.  It felt more like OFF- to me, and as others have said had a very hard feel.
 
Handle was excellent - very comfortable in the hands, but the blade was too hard for my tastes and it got sold.
This was a great signature until I realised it was overrated.

Thanks for the replies, guys.  

It sounds like the OFF- is too much for me.  My BH is mostly short game or chop, with an occasional smack, and a good bit of my FH is also short game until I get a good opportunity to go on the offensive.  Hard and sharp would be good attributes when on the offensive, but for short play, I think they would be a negative.

The outer plies of the Andro Temper Off- are actually Mahogany and not Walnut, as mentioned above.

Mahogany is slightly harder than Anigre; which is the wood used for the outer plies of the Yasaka Extra and it's softer than Walnut; which is the wood used for the outer plies, of the Yasaka Extra Offensive.

The reason behind the hard, stiff feel of the Temper Off-; is the Temper Tech technology process, which is used during manufacture; as it takes moisture out of the wood and thus hardens the blade.

Speedwise, the Andro Temper Off- is a faster blade than the Yasaka Extra and with less dwell time too.

Bearing in mind you like playing with long pips on the backhand; I think you'd be better off looking for a blade, that's designed specifically to work well with long pips.

In that sense, you could ask for advice from other long pips players on the forum, regarding suitable blades.
