Just thought I'd start a new thread to help those buying these new rubbers.

First of all, after you glue them to the blade, *do not* cut them close to the blade! Leave at least 1 cm overhang, and a bit more, maybe 12-13 mm, at the top of the head. Rolling the rubbers onto the blade stretches them, and they'll shrink back down within a few hours. After they've shrunk, you can cut them flush with the blade. I just glued mine up today, so I won't trim them properly until next time I play (Friday).

Another caveat that I had to find out the hard way - when you blow into the bag, do it quickly and without too much moisture. The first time I did it, I blew it up with too many breaths, and when I took my racquet out, I was shocked - it looked like one side of rubber was about to fall off! Apparently the moisture got into it. I had to use someone else's roller at the club to get it back on the blade properly again (fortunately it stayed on this time).

Hope this helps!

I never had the moisture problem, but the rubbers always shrunk after a few days.  Some users suggested applying glue to the rubber, leaving it to shrink for 3-4 hours and then attaching it to the blade.  Your thoughts on that?

I'm not a PS user, but has anyone considered using BTY glue sheets?

These would solve (I imagine) the problem of normal glue expanding the pre-treated sponge.

I used the sheets and the rubbers shrunk just the same!

I had drawn around my bat's head before I glued it. After glueing with a dense glue (eg. Joola Zoom or any speed glue from the bottom of the can which was a bit dried out) I cut the line I drew.

When I took my rubbers out of the packet they were reverse-curled a bit. I considered it an advantage to use regular glue, since the heptane (solvent) in it flattened the rubber. I think I would have had a tough time attaching it to the blade otherwise.

I think that would help a bit, in terms of shrinkage. However, rolling out the rubbers onto the blade would stretch them anyway, and I think they would still shrink afterwards. Also the rubbers would go back to their original curl if you left them for that long, and may be more difficult to attach.

The alubag was easy to use for me. (There are three pcs in the box.) The only difficulty was that You cannot use your bat cover anymore. You can buy a special bigger one from Butterfly. I stored it in a pocket of my bag that suited.

Resurrecting an old thread...

The Bryce FX PS (max) rubbers that I bought lasted me only 3 months - quite disappointing. And the glue effect lasted for only 2 of those months. In the third month I tried to max out the life of the rubbers by using limonene - it did get the glue effect back (and lasted for up to 3 days with each gluing), but the surface dulled down by the end of that month.

So, I decided to try a Bryce PS max on my FH this time. Much more devastating, with the medium sponge! Although with only a 3-month lifespan, I might have to go back to something cheaper... (Even at Dandoy it's expensive compared to Almana or the newer Joola/Donic rubbers.)
