I have to admit there was an inspiration in a certain recent Butterfly blade  I love the look of the Revoldia, so I wanted to make something similar without looking like a flat out copy. Composition wise it's also similar, except for the CNF layer, however I experimented with something I hope will give similar results.

Composition : Koto / Magic fairy dust / Ayous / Kiri / Ayous / Magic fairy dust / Koto
Weight: 88.2g
Thickness: 5.8mm
Freq. : 1270 Hz
Balance: 2.9cm (Low)

SDC,  please explain what balance means in "Balance: 2.9cm (Low)".  Thank you.

This one was supposed to be put for sale, but it was gone before I even had the opportunity. Initially, I just wanted to use the cool looking Mahoghany Pommele layer, but then the idea of making an handle inspired by the Templar Knights popped into my head. As is turns out, it does not only look good, but it plays really well too.

Composition: Mahogany / Yellow Pine / Kiri / Yellow Pine / Mahogany
Thickness: 5.95mm
Weight: 91.7g
Freq.: 1184Hz
Balance: 2.9cm (Low/Med)

Right looking balance, middle good freq, and stunning woods, but on the very light end of the weight optimization continuum... :D Bet a whole shipping container of Cheese-Its we could blindfold test this puppy and play same level though.

I'm making this one available on the website. It is based on an Apolónia ZLC but with SZLC instead, which gives some extra speed in the higher gears and a larger sweetspot.

Composition: Black Limba / Ayous / SZLC / Ayous / SZLC / Ayous / Black Limba
Weight: 88.3g
Thickness: 5.60mm
Freq.: 1320Hz
Balance: 2.3cm (Low)

The owner of this blade was looking for a 5 ply with roughly the same performance as the Tibhar Stratus Power Wood, but with a little more flex and speed, and also a handle that would fit his big sized hands. I'm glad to say that we were able to achieve that 🙂

Composition: Black Limba / Yellow Pine / Ayous / Yellow Pine / Black Limba
Weight: 91.3g
Thickness: 5.80mm
Balance: 2.4cm (Low)

Custom order. Mizutani ZLC inspired composition with a simple and classic handle look.

Composition: Limba / ZLC / Ayous / Kiri / Ayous / ZLC / Limba

The difference a top ply makes. Blue fig is soft, almost as soft as Ayous, so even at 6.15mm this blade is not stiff at all. The feeling is relatively soft, but speed wise it is faster than the frequency reading suggests, probably in the Off- range.

Available FS.

Composition: Blue Fig / Ayous / ALC / Ayous / ALC / Ayous / Blue Fig
Weight: 88.3g
Thickness: 6.15mm
Freq.: 1160Hz
Balance: 3.0cm (Med)

Nice looking job Sergio. Always fun seeing you trying out/using different kind of wood.

Already own 3 SDC blades and soon start playing again. Will do some reviews on these blades.
If anyone is looking to buy a new blade, check out SDC. Thumbs Up

YES! I like above all your will to do what people ask. I have seen blade makers in the past criticizing a request in function of what people say about their game and I could not understand why they would not do something people want when they do not like an idea.

I see you as somebody who will do anything your customers ask simply because good or bad, any composition gives feedback and information about what is good and less good to both the blade builder and the customer, everybody wins. If it's a fail, we all learn from it.

Why would a blade maker wear blinkers and refuse additional information about blade building because they think they know what's best for a player? ego and blinkers! I am glad you're not one of them.

What I offer is a customization service, so if anybody wants to try something crazy I'm all up for it, so as long it's within my abilities. If it's not, then I will try to find a way to do it, that's what pushes me to improve. If I was just making "Viscarias" for everybody, then this would be no fun at all.

I see some interest in combi blades so here's one I recently made. This one is inner Limba/ALC on one side and outer ZLC/Koto on the other, with an Ayous core. The difference in composition is not big enough to create a massive speed distinction between sides. However, there is definitely a difference in feel, with the Koto side being more direct. Speed wise it is probably in the Off-/Off range.

Available FS.

Composition: Limba / Ayous / ALC / Ayous / Ayous / ZLC / Koto
Weight: 89.6g
Thickness: 5.75mm
Freq.: 1320 Hz
Balance: 3.3cm (Med)

My first incursion with Soft Carbon in a classic composition. Nice woody feeling and feedback but with a more stable hitting area. Still a relatively high throw blade that is somewhere in the Off- range. Handle is Indian Rosewood with a Padauk cap.

Available FS.

Composition: Limba / Soft Carbon / Limba / Ayous / Limba / Soft Carbon / Limba
Weight: 88.3g
Thickness: 5.75mm

I like the simplicity of the handle, it’s style in sobriety, no flashy gimmick, just pure class, way to go!

It's been a long time since I've used basalt fiber. This was also the first time I've used Cedar of Lebanon, a nice alternative to Spruce, and with a smell as sweet as Hinoki.

Experiment time! I wanted to make something with a Mahogany core for a while, so I came up with this composition. I designed it to be a flexy blade, good for looping from mid distance, so the relatively low frequency reading tells me I'm in the right ballpark. The balance is shifted towards the head to get more momentum in bigger strokes. The 3xAyous medial plies gives it a soft feel and some stability while retaining the flex. The black Poplar top layer is really just for coolness points.

Available FS.

Composition: Poplar / 3xAyous / Mahogany / 3xAyous / Poplar
Weight: 90.0g
Thickness: 6.05mm
Freq.: 1060Hz
Balance: 3.4cm (Med)
