Hi,
I just want to know if tenergy 05 is a very durable rubber? I have heard that the performance of tenergy 05 remains consistent for a longer time compared to esn rubber which come with factory boosting. Moreover, does the topsheet of tenergy 05 remain more grippy than other rubbers for a longer time? Please share your opinions. Thanks. |

It's only 15%/20% more durable than ESN but two or three times more expensive. New polly ball destroys the topsheet faster than old celluloid.
Id rather prefer two Bluefire/MXP at 30€ than any Tenergy at 60€. Edited by jonyer1980 - 02/01/2020 at 7:33pm |

Same here. I can get 2 sheets of Rhyzer Pro 50 for less the price of 1 Tenergy 05. I almost considered playing with Tenergy 05 Hard but it won´t last 2 times a Joola Rhyzer.

no its a supposition...but tenergy is performing clearly worse in terms of topsheet with new balls, it wears out faster than before

My practice partner and I, 2200-2300 USATT, have both noticed significantly less durability on our recent sheets of Tenergies.

I actually thought the durability started to decrease some time around 2014 compared to when it first came out around 2008. I haven't used it for a few years now. It was still better than MX-P, especially if (like me) you don't want to mess around with boosting your rubber. It wasn't twice as durable though, I agree with what other people are saying. I stuck with T05 for a long time because I liked the way it played a lot better. I actually switched to something quite different but durability and price didn't have much to do with it. I always felt like the topsheet stayed very grippy for a long time and that the decline in performance came more from the sponge.

I hadn't noticed any drop in durability with Tenergy by the time I stopped using it last Spring, but if it was happening, I'd better it has something to do with the ABC 40+ balls. Also, when people say Tenergy is less durable, do they mean top sheet or sponge, because those are really different things.

I finally bought my 1st Tenergy 05 2 months ago, I really love how the rubber grips the ball and it's explosiveness. However, I did notice the top sheet is easy to crack when hit on the edge. So far no decrease in grip after 2 months of hard playing but a lot has to do with how I maintain it by cleaning and sealing with thin plastic sheet.

Tenergy is known to easily chip along the edges, but that doesn't really affect play. It also cuts easily if you had the table. On the other hand, the top sheet is very durable and lasts a long time. I usually found the sponge losing its power before I felt the top sheet had lost too much grip. I will say, however, the Dignics appears to be considerably more durable. It doesn't crumble on the edges, doesn't cut so easily on the table, and lasts much longer.

OK, I will need to try the Dignics 05 or 80 after the G1 which I already bought to try. If I like the G1 a lot then I won't be trying the Dignics because of the high price.

Hi, I think this might have something to do with new balls. We are playing with Nittaku Premium and since it’s surface is rougher than old celluloud/40 poly balls it’s natural that the rougher ball ’eats’ the topsheet more than previous balls. That’s why Tenergy seems to have less durable topsheet rhan before. That is just my theory tough.

What is the point of playing safe shots when you can miss with style
