In this superb match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTWnhOP4P0A

Ma lin was astonishing as usual against Kreanga , but something caught my eye:

On FH Kreanga was using a black rubber with Blue Sponge - does anyone know what it might have been (this was 2008).

Also, what was Ma Lin using?

Oh, and if this was still before a speed glue ban, then he was most likely using Bryce/Bryce FX on both sides.

If it has a blue sponge it's not any Bryce
Blade - Xiom 36.5 ALX FL
Forehand - Xiom Omega V Asia 2.0mm
Backhand - Victas Curl P5V with Der Materialspezialist Firestorm Soft/Outkill 1.8mm sponge

It can always be a custom rubber with a Bryce topsheet :p

But, some Haifus back then had a blue sponge too, haven't they?

These were used widely, heavily factory boosted, playing almost like speed-glued, just after the glue ban, and before Tenergy took over the market.
