I think this idea might work well on live TV.  Anyone who has been following MLTT should know by now that the golden game at the end is usually very exciting.  It is one game to 21 of huge consequence.  It could work in singles to draw viewership.

Why? the format promotes drama which any sport needs to succeed in the media.

I have always felt this format would work for table tennis. One game to 21. Show your stuff. On TV if there's no drama the viewer will switch and so will the sponsors.
How do the players qualify get to their spots 1-5? Playing matches on the day before and even on the morning of the afternoon TV show.

In that scenario the top seed would only play once right?
Wavestone St with Illumina 1.9r, defender1.7b

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.
