In Wttc Incheon 2024 semifinal against Liang Jinkun, Ma Long played forehand with his red rubber. Any reasons for that and how can he adapted so well right after playing different characteristic rubber in the first 2 games

I guess ML feels the need of more power for his forehand to win the match.
No more political prisoners in Catalonia.

One of the greatest fears of Chinese top players is for their H3 to bubble up during a match.  This happens when the topsheet comes unattached from the sponge in a small area. This completely changes the playability of the rubber making it pretty much useless.

If I had to guess, Ma Long had a bubble on the black side and decided to try to salvage the match by playing with the red side on the forehand.

Likely he felt nothing was working and wanted to try something new. I believe he uses H3 as well on his backhand, just something softer and bouncier and like what merlin said, he likely just wanted a bit more power.

If his rubber bubbled, he may change his racket with a spare that he has that passed testing. So unlikely he is playing with a defective racket at that time.
