Do you enjoy practicing this?

What does it bring to your game?

I was never good enough to use it in a match but I wish I was better at it to destabilize the ones that seldom encounter it because it's rare.

I have practiced with an ex pro level player. At the end of a session sometimes we break out a modern defender paddle with pips and inverted for fun.

We take turns FH chopping. He will often flip to chop with the inverted rubber.

He says that in matches, he sometimes needed to be an "emergency chopper" if he was forced back off the table, so he trained to do this in his playing days.

What is the contact point for the inverted chop, and what timing should we be going for?
