It is the way Felix holds his racket.
The back side has little finger support. Compare to Xu Xin, his fingers are fully extended in the back.

Time is all that is required here.

I like putting heavy topspin on the ball...

At the WTTC last 32, it felt sometimes that Félix had more spin and variation in a more creative game but ultimately, Qiu was too consistent in the rallies.
I do not know what to think about Félix' forehand loop, it seems so great and relaxed in the openings but in the rallies a bit away from the table, it is less lethal, and somehow presenting a locked elbow in a full body stroke. It's great for control and the legs and hips offer the strongest base for sheer power anyway so it should be kept as a full reliable option just as is but the same forehand with more snap from the elbow will take him a step ahead in lethality but...but...but...the thing is at his level, a little change can derail a lot of things in the kinetic chain and adding more forearm snap might destroy the greatness he already shows. Is the above description of his forehand valid anyway? It's just impressions past the sadness to see him lose an important match... I feel like his bh is awesome and better than his quite ordinary fh so far. I take it as a super positive take tho: ROOM TO GROW!
