Janus I'd like to say thank you for starting a very needed project of showing us every point. Not just the amazing ones as most videos do.
We have a better picture of what table tennis is, and how the players actually win or lose.

No - but did you stay around until the third power outage which stopped game completely for the day and left two quarterfinals undecided? Looks like the cold weather is to blame, the electrical grid couldn't handle the increased demand. |

That was my first thought as well. But the trajectory of the ball after it touched Crisan's racket seemed a bit funny too me, not a straight line as one would usually get from a racket edge ball, so I figured it must have been the spin. Maybe I was wrong. Still, it was a good serve.

You're welcome GECA!! Sorry for the delay but we had a serious problem here [for 2 hours we didn't have electricity and until late at night no water!!) The Final is ready and now I'm uploading it. I'm concluding (from what my browser writes) that <70 min needed to be published. So, you have to wait little more for the Short Form.

Ovtcharov deserved the victory, no doubt but the voices he's able to produce when he makes a point are quite annoying. It remembers me the war-whoops of female japanese or chinese TT players... It could be very confusing for the opponent that's for sure.

I think he needs glasses, he makes a lot of whiffs when swinging at the ball like he can't tell how much topspin is on it or something. Also his recovery position often defaults to cheat to his backhand so his forehand strokes are slow to start. |

Is it just me or did Samsonov seem kind of out of it for all of his matches for this tournament? He made some great shots as usual but a lot of the time he just didn't seem to have that super-intensity he usually exhibits.

skachkov is also a lot more emotional during games to a point of being a little crazy/weird. he did not show any of these in the game.
