Very numbery title.
Anyway. I wanted to purchase a long pips rubber for just a fun blade. Maybe some twiddling and chop blocks. Which rubber would be better for a variation of hitting and blocking? Thanks, Totoro Ps. I know, random long pips but it's just a fun bat =D |

Go for the 755... it's quite versatile and will last a lot longer than the 837.

I have used 755 on a second (3rd or 4th really) bat for messing about with and it is quite good for chop blocks and hitting. I use ck531a for that purpose now, because I think it is a little easier to control and I can get it slightly cheaper, but both are fine.

755 has more reversal, and is slightly faster. The reversal counteracts the speed so it's still better for chop-blocks than 837 which IMO simply reacts too much to spin. The only thing I'd use 837 for is long range chopping. 837 hits well since it's pretty spinny but 755 hits well also.

i tried both and i found that the 755 has harder pips. it has better reversal, and slightly faster than the 837. the pips of the 837 broke easily when hit hard. tried both in 0,6 thickness.

755 are also really easy to use for long pips, I was able to hand them to my casual player friend who hardly plays and just cuts and occasionally drives and he was able to use them after a couple minutes, much easier to use than my Globe 979 I got.

i strongly feel if you want to succeed using long pip you have to choose the most deadly, deceptive, slow long pips in OX.
if yuo want to focus on proper game.. forget lp and go sp or inverted.
trying to find a rubber that does little bit of deception and little bit of stroke doesn't lead anywhere.
755 OX is my recommendation

No no, don't get me wrong, this is just for a junky bat but I still wanted opinions on which one to choose lol.
I wouldn't use it in competition. |

Why choose? They are both very cheap so buy both. they are also quite different. 755 was used by Car Prean with the main advantage that you could perform loop stokes with it. What landed on the other side was anyone's guess. 837 was very effective at attcking a backspin ball. It could pick up any backspin and throw back a wobbler. Not so good against topspin or making a chop.
They are both fun stuff. Just buy a couple cheap blades and away you go.

LOL Tot, close your eyes and pick one if you plan on using it for fun.
If you can get your hands on one then get Dawei 388d-1, you'll have more fun with it, and it's quite durable, either 0.5mm or in OX, since you plan on staying up close and block and hit. |
