Lower throw and well suited to wooden blades.

A friend of mine plays it on his Stiga Off CR, but he has it super-heavy glued and together with the heft of the blade it sends the ball really fast; his rubber is pretty heavy and superspinny. I didn't feel any deadness there but then again, it often depends on the blade (not to mention amounts of speed glue etc.)

I use a Maze off, Im trying Inspirit Quatro on fh (instead of Bryce Speed) and Gambler six shooter on bh (instead of sriver). Ill receive the rubbers aftur a week and it will be exciting to see if they match Bryce and sriver.

Cole told me that Gambler six is very light rubber and should be good on bh when using I.Q. on fh which is supposed to be a little heavy.

Im not using speed glue

The reason why Im thinking of switching is the rubbish price they put on Bryce Speed (exspecially) and sriver I think. It costs around 85$ to buy both Bryce Speed and sriver el while Inspirit Quatro and Gambler six cost around 30$.

Looking forward to test the cheap ones from Coles and see if the match my current setup!

I've used Six Shooter on various blades : Galaxy K4, LKT Instinct & Instinct+, Gambler Black Diamond, Stiga Optimum Sync and Tibhar Samsonov Premium Contact.

2.2mm Six Shooter worked well on the Tibhar and LKT blades. I thought it was a very good match with the Tibhar Samsonov Premium Contact..

2mm worked well on the Gambler Black Diamond, LKT Instinct blades and the Stiga Optimum sync.

2mm Six Shooter was okay on the Galaxy K4, good for looping 3 foot back from the table, but no so good in the short game because its low throw meant to many nets for my liking.

I think Six Shooter is better matched with wooden blades with medium/high throws..

My advice on Quattro is try the 39%, which I found worked better on both the Michael Maze and Timo Boll Spirit, than the softer 35%.

I had more success with 35% Quattro on wooden blades, like the Petr Korbel and a 1976 Stiga Allround Wood

My impressions from I.Q. is that it is not Bryce Speed - it is a very decent rubber but it's certainly not as fast. Control in short game is much better, though.

Cole recommended the Inspirit Quatro 2.2 at 42 degree

It will be exciting to see wether those rubbers will match my current setup. Even if Im not happy the gambler six I can always just use sriver og mark v in my backhand. Hopefully I will be satisfied with the Quatro because of the overprized Bryce Speed which I like very much though!

The only issue that I have with IQ is that there is a small catapult effect which takes some getting used to. For instance, your opponent serves medium/long to your forehand and you attack with FH topspin - goes right over the table - took me a few minutes before I found the right angle and the right hand speed...

I've gotten in some samples of an ultralight version of inspirit quattro. I basically had dawei make the topsheet in 1.5mm thickness. The samples came out around 53g +/-2 measuring uncut squares with plastic on top.

I'm excited about it because I hope it will save me from having to glue so many palio topsheets onto quattro sponges! I won't have it for 2weeks or more though, so there's no sense in mass-emailing me daily to get a status.

Oh, I haven't weighed it - but I got it from Cole so he knows (mine is 1.8, by the way, I just forgot to update the signature... doing it now)

Cole, why do you need 1.5? It seems to me that 1.8 is plenty thin and not heavy. Control is very good - although it sits on my V-6 so it might be less forgiving on some OFF+ blades...

JimT, I think he's talking about the topsheet only.  Not topsheet +sponge.

This sounds very interesting if it is indeed that light!  My biggest issue with IQ has always been the heavy weight.

Oh, I see now. That's nice. Perhaps I should get it 2.0 in sponge thickness next time. I started to like it more after yesterday's practice... it's also nice that you don't have to glue it, although I read it on this forum and elsewhere that IQ still can be glued and somewhat improved by doing that.

Cant wait to receive my I.Q. 2.2 in a few days.
One thing Im thinking about, everybody says the I.Q is very heavy, but how heavy? what compared to sriver or Bryce Speed?

JimT: What other rubbers have you tried to compare with the I.Q?
Im very interested to see how it is comparing to my current Bryce Speed on fh

Yeah, actually I screwed up my last post...I should have said "topsheet not sponge" rather than "not topsheet + sponge."

Anyway if the topsheet will be thinner/lighter now, that should help on the overall weigh.

@Hefner - it's heavy.  A bit more than Sriver, maybe not much more than Bryce Speed.

So may I.Q. 2.2. could be okey with sriver on the other side? I using Bryce Speed and Almano sound or sriver el on my Maze....that should be similar then?

On FH in addition to IQ I have tried Tibhar Rapid, regular Inspirit, Bryce FX, Srivers of all shades, DHS H3, Dawei 2008XP, LKT Pro XP, Cream MRS, Mark V.

My DIQ is not too heavy - really it is more about the balance of the blade as a whole than about a couple of grams in your rubber.
