With the imminent glue ban and now tuners and booster set to be banned as well. What is the answer?
Any suggestions as to the way forward.
Which if any of the new rubbers are any good?

Try speed glue built in rubbers like XIOM ZETA, Omega Series, TRUE INNOVATION, or Joola Express rubbers, or TSP REAL or ACTOR.

I have already tried the Joola Energy X-Tra in 2.0m and Max. But find neither adequate. Sounds a bit like its glued, but lacks speed and spin.

Andro website already announced in its June newsletter that ITTF decided to prohibit use of tuners.  Donic website has labeled their booster usable until September 1, 2008.  So I guess that is it for tuners unless the ITTF decides not to ban tuners.

Actually, the tuners are not ITTF approved.  They only meet the ITTF regulations on VOC free substances.  If manufacturers claim that their tuners are ITTF approved, then they are mislesding the buyers.

I emailed the ITTF in June this is the reply I got.

Dear  Michael,

Yes, the ITTF Board of Directors decided in Guangzhou to ban any product which may change the properties of the top-sheet rubber once this has been authorised. Within this group of products are the tuners.

Best regards

I have deliberately not told you my source as it maybe in confidence.

This was a genuine reply.

Also TT wholesalers in the UK are already selling off Tuners and Boosters at half price.
Hence my original question.
I haven't been happy with the1st lot of new rubbers that came on the markey last year, in anticipation of the original glue ban. So I am wondering if there is anything better.

At the US Open, the referees asked a cadet player to dispose the blade and the rubbers that had Butterfly speed optimizer. He could not find the blade and the rubbers that he used to use in the booth, and he desperately lost to many players because of that sudden change.

As I said, the XIOM Omega series and ZETA have speed glue built in.

Slime - Rubber cement

It catches fire, it's got Heptane, it'll give you cancer and well it's speed glue, isn't it lovely stuff :)

But if you are crazy and want to use it you don't need to spend alot of money on old stock

XIOM Omage III has 5 star rating for speed glue effect. The customers who have bought ZETA like it too. The first stock of ZETA that came last month has been sold almost - only 4 black left.

I can send you a document in Chinese which has a comparison of all the tensor rubbers. You will see Omega III is in the top.

You can do 1 of 2 things.

1. Start taking steriods.

2. Dont worry because your opponents will also not be able to use banned substances.
