Charlie put together a beauty of a blade for me. He customizes every detail to the needs of the individual player, and the customizations are functional as well as beautiful.

I am fortunate enough to play in the same club as Charlie, so he knows that I'm used to very balsa light blades, but that I'm moving to a spin-dominant looping game. The All Around blade he made for me is at the lighter end of the range for this model, at 80 grams. I also told him that my coach was concerned that my current blade is too stiff - and the flex in this blade is perfect! I can "feel the ball," as my coach says. The dwell time is much higher as I can better dictate how much of my energy goes into the ball's spin vs. speed.

While the blade is certainly beautiful to look at, it's the functional aspect that impresses me most. The wood is smooth without being slippery, so no splinters and no airborne projectiles. I also never knew how much handle "scoops" could change the way the blade works with my grip. I've been having trouble adapting to a more "neutral" grip as advised by my coach. The scoops help me use a neutral grip and maintain the wrist flexibility needed to perform strokes just as good as when I had a different FH and BH grip.

I have owned well over a dozen blades over the years, ranging from $10 to $200 - and this is the best blade I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Send Charlie a note - you'll be glad you did!

Good idea. Here you can see the way the handle scoop makes the handle thinner on the side of the webbing between your thumb and forefinger, enabling the "pinch grip" that coaches recommend.

I have a few of these to see at my club, and I have 1 as a demo and my son absolutely loved this blade! At $55 you can't beat it. It's a solid blade that I would rate a good All+. The handles are so comfortable, and I really like the scoops. For another $10 Charlie can do something extra special with the handle to make your blade a one-of-a-kind blade.

I hope Dave meant something else... something with more personalization, so to speak...

Yes he can use different colored wood (2-tone color), and add pin stripes.

Does the scoop really help with how you grip the handle? When playing backhand, I tend to make a minor adjustment on Flared handles so looks like the scooped handle can help with that by making it a more comfortable grip?
