To all,

Charlie has a new blade now we decided to call LoopMaster 3.0. This blade is based off the FlashDrive 3.0 design I play with but with 1 major difference. Instead of hard Koto layers, it has softer Obeche layers.
A couple of months ago Charlie had made some blades for me that had Obeche in them that were 5 ply all wood. They played well and were probably All+ - Off- in terms of speed/control.
They were nice but I felt they lacked the power I like. Then he developed the 7-ply FlashDrive with 2 layers of hard Koto, and 2 thin layers of Carbon and I played really well with it. A couple of weeks ago I asked Charlie what he thought the Obeche all-wood 5-ply blades would play like with the 2 thin layers of Carbon he uses for the FlashDrive blade. So he made 1 and I got to try it out on Saturday and the results were great! It definitely has the power now to finish the point, but more importantly it's a great looping blade with good dwell time. I let a couple of 2200 players play with it on Saturday and both gave it big thumbs up! As a matter of fact one of the players that plays with a Clipper wood setup that he absolutely loves, called me after we left the club and asked if I could order one for him. He compared it to the Clipper in terms of speed, but said the dwell time was much greater than the Clipper and he was so impressed with the quality/craftsmanship of Charlie's blade that he really wanted to have one. So I spoke with Charlie and my friend will soon have one of these great new looping blades in his hands. We needed to come up with a name for the blade and my friend said well as long as it indicates it's a crazy good looping blade...thus LoopMaster 3.0. The blade we tested was 90 grams with a flared handle with scoops. My friend prefers a flared handle with slopes, similar to what most blades have. Charlie and I also agreed to set the price at $80 which is the same as the FlashDrive 3.0 blade. I will post a pic soon.

Regards,
Dave

Everyone always likes comparisons don't they. Hmmm...this blade is probably a little more powerful than the Excalibur, and this blade would probably suit the needs of most loopers just as well. I kind of look at the Excalibur like the premium version of Charlie's blades, kind of like the Acura to Honda, etc. Both cars are great but the Acura lineup or Lexus if you prefer just has the extra craftsmanship, attention to details if you will. It's an 11-ply blade that requires much more effort from Charlie, and it's just smooth in it's control/power.
