Rok,
Don't use the blade ! Just keep it and look at the beautiful grains from time to time. Once you put the rubbers on it, you will lose the yearn to look at it Big%20smile
Regarding Kindom, the e-mail does not work, I tried it.

Thanks Fattchoi! Smile

Aeoliah, in that case, I need to get me another one... Speed 90 or Juic... But hate to get a new one and spend so much before knowing what I'm getting into with the 1 ply worlds... Are you ordering something from iruiru anytime soon? Tongue

Rok,

You can use BTY free chack to glue ur rubber sheet.... It is less likely leave any mark to stick on the wood surface. And a very fine sandpaper to sand the surface after you changed rubber a few times and you want the wood to be back to new again..

Very nice lookin blade you have there rokphish. Mitthra is right butterfly free chack doesn't leave any residue on the blade or the rubber.

Dragon - maybe sending email from Mongolia was the problem. :)) Just kidding.  Perhaps you can try to give them a call?  Let us know if you have any luck.

Rok - When are you going to put the rubbers on your beautiful Kokutaku WeiZhou and play with it?  Give it a review if you would.  Cheers!

Ouch!!!  What blade was that?  I applied a couple of thin layers of lacquer on my Speed 90 just to be sure.

Mithrra, you used the XIOM varnish right? The small bottle with sponge? How did you use it to varnish your blade? Circular motion from middle outward? Or linear motion top to bottom from left to right? How many layers did you do yours? 4 hours interval then 12 hours before attaching rubbers?

Yes Hinoki splinters soo badly. My photino has Hinoki top plies, and I used regular water chack, no sealing, and a huge part of it came off.

I have difficulties in photographing the splinter, 25 photos, the most clear picture only 3 photos. It's the same as Rokphish 1 ply. The Kokutaku 3008.

As you know, I never seal any of my hinoki before. But now, with this new water based glue, I have decided to seal all my hinoki. Just do as aeoliah instructed. Apply very thin layer by using cotton cloth. 3 layers. And it is all good and won't affect the feel of the play. For me, I sand lightly with 1200grit paper between coat. I also sand the last coat before applying rubber.

Cheers.

I decided to varnish it for ease of mind... Down with the first layer... Might do two layers instead of three... Smile

Well, good thing I don't use speedglue anymore... Thanks for the warning.
I use rubber cement and Clean chack. I know Clean Chack is not voc free, but I still have a big tube of it and the smell is certainly not as strong as the speedglue. I'll be trying the Free Chack later I suppose. But I wonder when I'll finish with the Clean chack. I use only a little of a time and it's a BIG tube... Stern%20Smile

Actually is not big the splinter, Aeoliah. Yeah, I thought it's factory sealed because I can see the Shiny coated seal. My butterfly Carbon blades which is Hinoki Top ply like Sardius n Schlager carbon are fine. It splinters on the left at BH sides, so there's no problem playing with it, compared if it splinters on the right side of the BH sides. What an expensive experience I got
