I'm new to the sport, but after 9 months of play I think it's time to get some proper table tennis shoes, my standard running shoes are causing my heels and other parts of my feet to get really sore after 8 - 10 hrs a week of table tennis practice and play.
I don't have $100 in the budget for shoes, I'm looking to get something more in the $40 - $60 range. Does anyone know of some durable, reasonably-priced TT shoes? Mizuno? Butterfly? DHS? Stiga? Donic? Anything? Thanks in advance! |

I recommend you get some high quality non-marking shoes which shouldn't necessarily be a table tennis brand or brans such as Nike or Adidas etc.
I bought a pair of non-branded non-marking shoes from the UK, which costs about $70 USD (Around That) And they have lasted me about 2 and a half years and I'm still wearing them. To me they're more comfortable than those really expensive butterfly TT shoes. If you have to wear Table Tennis shoes, Butterfly for example as a sponsor, I would recommend the cheap butterfly ones with the blue logo, I'm not sure what it's called but it lasted me a good 2 years, and was comfortable.

Dawei Saviga White Arrow, perfect shoes for me. Very cheap (less then 50 USD, if I'm not mistaken) and nice. As for quality (durabilty) I really can't comment, since I use up a pair of shoes each season, regardless of brand and price. These shoes where no different, but I suspect most people wants to get out more then one season from their shoes.

I like Asics table tennis shoes, which can be bought, even in large sizes from contra.de (a German website that has tons of different shoes at a variety of prices). They are very reliable.

As a disclaimer, I've never tried table tennis shoes, but...
I used to buy Asics tennis shoes, and loved them, but I stopped 2 years ago when they started to last half as long as they used to. I've never bought an Ascis shoe again, as if I'm paying decent money for a tennis shoe, I want it to at least last a year.

I am on my 2nd pair of Asics Gel-Rocket 6 volleyball shoes. They are just slightly heavier than true table tennis shoes, but they do have some extra cushioning that I really liked since I played a lot on concrete floors. Since I have a narrow foot and especially a narrow heel I buy the women's version when I can find them in my equivilent since. In my first pair I found that I wore out the cushioning well before I wore out the soles. I like these much better (more cushioning) than the Stiga TT shoes (just slightly higher price) I had before.

Asics Gel Rocket 5 and 6 are great and not too expensive on Amazon. within your price range. i think table tennis branded TT shoes are slightly overrated.

My experience with Asics indoor court shoes is entirely different. I've been wearing my Asics Gel Blast 2 handball/squash shoes for about 4 years now, at about 5-6 hrs of TT practice per week, and they hardly show signs of wear. They're expensive, but totally worth the money. Current model is Blast 4, but if you search for older models, such as Blast 2 or 3, you may still be able to get some leftovers at a bargain price. |

It's hard to compare shoes for different sports. I have gotten about a year out of my Asics Gel Blades. Before that I used Butterfly shoes made by Asics and got a year out of them too. The shoes sold by Asics under their own name are cheaper.

I love my Asics 1130V but they are more like $70-$80. They are a volleyball shoe, which has more cushioning that your typical TT shoes, great for if your feet get sore like mine. Mine are size 14.

I have some of those Asics volleyball shoes also. They are indestructible. I prefer TT shoes most of the time because they are more flexible, which is better for TT. But if you play on a hard surface, especially concrete, the volleyball shoes are great and save a lot of wear and tear on joints.
