Is it me or blade prices are getting just a tad out of hand? I just checked out Butterflyonline and found a defensive blade called Innershield ZLF sold for a cool $194. Interestingly enough, based on their own ratings the speed and control on this thing are not that different from their own Matsush*ta Pro. Another marketing ploy, I wonder?

Come on, it's Butterfly. More specifically, it's Butterfly NA. Also known as Martin-Kilpatrick. Although the price you pay is for premium grade equipment, BTY Online overcharges with cut throat prices to make profit from unknowing buyers or BTY fanboys in the US.

I don't believe that prices are unbelievably soaring right now, maybe a slight increase in Japan since the dollar is losing more and more to the Yen...

I am playing with this blade now. I would say this blade is very easy to loop, blocks are good, little vibration for more filling the ball, still trying to find good combo. The blade does not like all long pips. The blade has a lots of power to finish the ball. Very expensive, can buy it from TTJapan.
