What are some classics that have been discontinued? Some blades that come into my mind are the original Keyshot, Moonbeam, Cryzer, Phalanx II, etc.

I got an email from a taiwanese vendor just this week saying that the classic butterfly defence blade, DEFENCE II, is now out of production. Lots of pros like Jang Song Man, Chen Weixing and several womens' choppers use(d) it!

How about DHS 032? I think they re-introduce again but everybody says it's different than the old classic 032.

yasaka gatien off is not actually discontinued - it is just made in much smaller numbers now. in fact they have even changed the handle colour to match that of ma lin carbon / extra offensive etc., but still keeping the original red tag.

Borko told me that the Korbel they do today (in China) is not nearly as good as the ones they used to make when it came out.
Generally when a company keeps the name but totally changes the fabrication process to cut costs, is it not a discontinuation of some sort? of course it is. |

That is a possibility because the willow wood is very expensive now.

Tickan was a name of the handel (Anatomic) same as Hans Alser (Legend), Stellan Begtson (Master) and Kjell Johansson (Kind of traight, not the same as Peter tough) . |

Well, a guy on the other forum said that his blade had Tickan written on it, and there was nothing else. So it could have been a name of one of the models as well. |

stiga defensive wood! my friend has a really old one with a purple top plies and TICKAN lens in the handle. It is very very slow with super feeling, perfect for klassik defence. defensive blades are a big hole in the stiga lineup now :). i think the only one they still make is tube defense, and that one has the top heavy balance with the wrb.

Stiga Clipper.
The blades that stiga calls clipper now are nothing like the clippers from 10 years ago. They are cheap imitations. |

Hi @all!
Some of the blades mentioned in this thread are still available in brand new condition on the german ebay (ebay.de), like the BTY Power 7 or the old Stigas (Graphite Wood, Old Clipper in conic handle etc.). By the way: I am searching for a Stiga Dynapower or Offensive Evolution. Does anyone have one for sale??? (Hopefully my request is in the right thread) Greetz, Apollo! |

I got to hold and see a keyshot yesterday and man that's a sweet blade. Very soft feeling and a great looping blade. Is there anywhere to find one anymore? And i'm guessing the design of the Maze came from that blade?
