Hi, where can I get a ~0.7 mm cork sheet to glue it on my blade? Is there any (cheaper source) than buying BFY stuff? I'd prefer this smooth kind of cork (which is used for quality blades, not the one you can find on some premades).

Take a look in Wallmart and those kind of stores. They sell cork sheets for lining drawers. Might work. Wooppps ,  Germany. Don't know if there is wallmart. Big dept stores that sell housewares.

I bought the cork sheet from iruiru, who got it from Butterfly. I use normal glue (Clean Chack) to make it stick to the blade.

Galaxy has them.  You'd have to wait until the next order cycle, but I can order both cork sheets and cork handle stickons from them.

Oh, thanks for your info Cole. I have a Galaxy contact person here in Germany who will help me getting some custom blades, so I can ask him to send me these cork sheets too.
Anyway, Galaxy is going to become my favourite T.T. brand Smile

Does your contact person have any information about already existing galaxy blades, like used wood type.
I'm from Austria and was wondering if you sometimes visit tt-news forum.

I am interested.  How much will you be charging?

What is the size of the corksheet?

Do the "cork handle stickons" come in two pieces?

Thanks.

Thanks for the information.  However that type of corksheet is made from composition cork.  That is tiny pieces of cork glued and pressed into a sheet, just like a particle board.  Normally the corksheet used on the Jpens is made from a whole piece of cork bark.

I have tried it before.  It's harder and less comfortable compared to the whole piece corksheet.  It's heavier too.  It's ugly too.  But that's just my personal opinion.  Do you use Jpen?

Does it affect the way blade play ? If not than it should not matter .Besides how much grams can a piece of cork 0,7 thick increse the weigt of the blade. It is going to be used for the back side that is usualy painted anyway. Right?Wink

Of course everything and anything affect the play.  Otherwise why RSM would shave off the corksheet or Yoshida Kaii would glue a piece paper on the backside of his blade?  And may I remind you that none of them use the backside of their blade.  Get the picture here Wink

Have you heard of RJPB?  Wink
