i was a long bit curious o n what the memo series performances. i picked the memo 3 over the memo 2 since the memo 3 is softer and the store told me that more people are buying the memo 3.

equipment: (this is my EJ set up where i test different rubbers hehehe)
blade - donic epox offensive
fh - dhs memo 3 black
bh - 802-40

characteristics:
white creamy colored sponge. when pressing it it feels like a 37 degree sponge hardness for me. the topsheet is nice and its a high quality topsheet. its smooth and not grainy. the tackiness is only light. its more like a hybrid rubber. the topsheet is thinner than the memo 2.

drives - its a lively rubber during my fh to fh drills. the sponge doesnt feel dead and its a little bit springy for a chinese rubber. the speed is faster than traditional chinese rubbers but slower than the red diamond or black power with golden cake sponges.

loops - effortless for normal pushes that goes long but i have a bit of adjustment on looping pushes that are a bit shorter and are above the table. im quite used to the skyline 3's performance in looping above the table against spinny pushes.

service - spinny and good on fast serves. service receiving is not a problem since the topsheet is not sensitive to incoming spin. i dont see my receives popping up.

overall i would give this rubber an 8 out of 10. its not the fastest out there but spin and control are greatly emphasized with ample speed. i recommend this to be used with a stiff balde to give it more speed.Big smile

I just glued this on my backhand.  I have a sheet of memo 2 and memo 3 from ttrubberman, the topsheets look identical, maybe the sponge is a little firmer on the memo 2?  I've grown to like rubbers like h3, skyline etc on the backhand, but wanted something a little softer sponge wise and with a little more zip on the topsheet, slightly tacky ok.  Memo 3 might be an h3, with a softer topsheet, and the more elastic sponge.  Sure to be an easy combination if you ask me!  I'll post more impressions here after I train with it.

Thanks for the review yogi.  BTW I tried the new dipper III some time ago - the sponge was the same as these but the topsheet was very soft, and totally non-tacky.  The rubber felt soft and slow (on an all-wood blade - carbon might be a different story).  Already I can see that memo 3 will play better.

Hello,

Can you update with you final statement related to this rubber ?
I'm currently playing on my BH with a Nittaku Pro Hammond Beta.
Take care,

Brahms

overall its a good rubber depending on your preference. its worth more than its price, its very spinny yet not so sensitive to incoming spin.. has ample speed and tons of control.. overall i'd give it an 8 out of 10

I tried the rubber for a few weeks, and would like to post my impressions:

Quality is indeed top-notch for a $14 rubber.  Pins are bigger than normal chinese rubbers.  As described by Yogi, this rubber is very good at everything,  looping underspins & flat hitting, and countering.  Non Tacky, but very Grippy.  Low throw, lacking some power away from table.  The vanilla sponge produces a speed-glue sound which I love.  Doesn’t have much gear as H3, and just as heavy.  Might move this to BH.

i also tried this rubber from march-april of this year. i bought memo3 black for 780php for my fh. my fh before memo3 was an lkt pro xp. my blade then was bty sardius

MY PERSONAL OPINION ABOUT THIS RUBBER IS...

it really is worth its price. its great for services, looping is easy and controllable.

but (or maybe its just my stroke)the downside is i cant generate much spin with it. i can tell you donic desto f1 & f2, stiga mendo, donic acuda s1, and friendship ritc geospin tacky can generate more spin than dhs memo3 (note: i was able to use all rubbers mentioned)

and also its not very speedy. its very hard to win a point with it far away from the table. stiga mendo did a better job on that aspect

i tried using it as a backhhand for a week. it worked out well. it was very controllable, blocks were good. my bh pushing improved with memo3

that is all
thank you!!!
