has anyone tried the XVT ebenholz 7 blade? how does it play like in general, and in comparison to loopy, limba 5-ply allrounders or clipper-like blades? (I have a DHS allround classic clone, but substantially heavier). does it pair well with chinese rubbers? How does the speed/feeling of it compare to limba-ALC blades?
Hell, is it (and any of these "ebony" outer ply blades) actually ebony? because I've heard that a) ebony is endangered to the point that they generally forbid harvesting all three varieties of it left, and b) there's dark rosewood that highly resembles ebony aesthetically. Because $20 ebony really rings the alarm, even if the cost to source raw material is far cheaper than buying the finished product. I plan to buy one as a training blade but need some feedback first as I've never touched ebony and am obviously too lazy to go out and research this, thanks oh and yeah XVT Ebony/Ebenholz 7 blade, probably a stiga clone? it says it has 2 layers of carbon but looking at pics of the blade I doubt that carbon plies come that thick Edited by Jacksupreme - 03/11/2018 at 4:04pm |
