I tried the search function, but I got an error message.
What is the fastest pips out (not the long pips) and what is the thickness of the sponge ? I don't know yet to which blade I will glue it (normal glue), because I want to do is just for fun, I want to know what it plays like, because when I was a kid, available blades were almost all pips out. Blade candidates that I have for this : Darker 7P2A CHN Carbon and Cypress, or maybe my DHS C-pen premade which is maybe 40 years old. |

Most all pips out rubbers are fast if you use them with the right blade and technique. Choose your hardest and possibly heaviest blade, maybe the DHS 40 year old premade.
I use Joola Tango Ultra which is fast on a hard blade when you hit through the ball. Stiga Royal, BTY Speedy P.O. and TSP Spectol are all very fast.
I find how much spin they can generate is more important than the speed. If you regularly use inverted, use the spinniest and softest sponge you can get and get something 2.0 or less in thickness.
If you want to keep things cheap, try 802-40, Dawei 388B1, Galaxy Uranus as all of these are $10-15 rather than $30-40 as above rubbers.

aeoliah, u r venturing into an unchartered territory as far as I'm concerned. It'll be a very significant change if u've been sed to norma inverted rbrs. I believe most of ur strokes have to be adjusted accordingly. I personally have nvr tried S.P. but would luv to put some cheapy one on my my BH as I always like to hit flat w/bh rather than bh topspin/drive. A teen I know changed to S.P. bh n now back to normal inverted as he realized the adjustments were not easy ones. It should be just fun for u and me, I guess!

I just want to have one for the old time's sake, and I have no serious intention here. One of my friend is using the short pips, and the smash is slow, so it is definitely not for me. Come to think of it, maybe I will try a few shots with it, even if it is a shake hand blade.
