either that girl is very strong for her age. if not, than that was a very unwise choice.

unless the nine year old daughter is using an extreamly light weight blade or an extreamly thin sponge with H3, I think that is a terrible setup... it will be too heavy. As an adult male, I find it heavy to use H3 just on one side, imagine a 9 yr old girl or an 11 yr old boy.

Another reason that coach could be training the 9 yr old wrist strength, instead of the game.

Bryce FX is a fast rubber, your son must "swing" his harm fast enough in order to utilize this rubber.

Judging from his age and style, I would say some soft rubber such as Sriver EL 2.1 or Innova U L 2.0 is good for him. At this stage, focus should be base un building his funcdamental

I first use Sriver EL (unglued) on a J-Pen blade and didn't find the speed + control that good. I guess you need speed-glue to use Sriver EL to bring out its best. Then I switch to Tackifire Special (unglued) and actually found more spin, control + speed than Sriver EL. Now, I am using Bryce FX (unglued) have only tried it once, but found more speed, less spin and control than Tackifire Special.

On Butterfly's website Byrce FX is listed Speed: 12 Spin: 9.5 Control: 7.4. Does anyone know if these numbers are for unglued? If yes, anyone know what would the numbers be like for Byrce Fx when glued?

For me Bryce FX is one of the spinniest, not that fast though. Why not tryind first 1.9 and then  another rubber. The only problem I had was to smash consistently(it is probably me)

Children are much stronger than they look, and two hundred grams is essentially nothing (especially compared to swinging around kettlebells).

i think you should try tackifire c soft,sriver g2
tackifire c soft will have the most spin but a huge decrease in speed, sriver g2 will be a step down from speed but the spin will be better than the byrce fx
and see what he likes

an 11 year old can handle h3 on both sides (esp a boy)
ther are 11 year old kids that play tennis
bigger strides more running and the racket is alot heavier
consider that

Thanks for all those suggestions - sriver g2 fx seems to be a step in the right direction not so very different from bryce fx unglued, but more control with no less spin. I'm interested in Plasma 430, and also Tibhar Torpedo Soft - though I see on other topics within this forum people have said that is a heavy rubber (in max). I fear that when you throw the question of thickness into the mix - the decision is even harder.

preemorak,

I am going under the assumption that your 11 year old can handle himself on the table pretty well, as he's been using Bryce.  I think the Andro 430 is a nice idea it's pretty speedy, and spinny stuff.  It's actually both faster, and spinnier than Bryce unglued.  It's got a built in speed glue effect sponge.  I would also recommend Nittaku Reforma it's a nice high control rubber that your son could play for a long time without needing to upgrade for awhile.  Same with the Andro.  The Reforma is tad slower than the Andro, but easily as spinny.  I am not sure how well those built in sponges keep the consistency, but I'm sure they arent junk.  They certainly arent cheap, so they better be good.
