Hi, i just finished 1 year of great ping pong playing at my University and is looking to upgrade my set up, right now I just have a random Chinese penhold with Huraccaine 3 on it, what i am aiming for is...

Rubber:
F: H3 2mm or max
B: 755 1mm

Playing style: serve and attack, so off paddle would be good

Right now I am considering Optimum Sync Penhold and Stiga Offensive classic...

Are there any other good paddles i should consider?

Thank you very much

offensive classic is rather slow, i feel that it's slower than ye which is considered an allround to off- blade.  a lot of people like to start out with ye, so that's an option.  something i find to be pretty nice and mad cheap is the 729 6010, it's faster than ye and has a softer feel, quality is pretty good too, i'd prefer the 6010 over ye.  and of course, you can go for what i've got:  Yasaka Ma Lin Carbon! any of those blades you've mentioned are good, but i would also say that yasaka would be a pretty good blade.   I've bought yasaka extra like three times before i decided to try out other blades.

The Galaxy 2004 from Cole is a great buy for $25.
It is faster than Stiga OC CR, or you can spend a bit more for
the Galaxy W6 for $39.   They have small handles suitable for RPB.

Take a look:

Darker makes nice single ply hinoki blades, that is if  the thickness of the blade is not an issue.

If you want something relative cheap, get a yasaka extra.

you can find it in iruiru in the penhold section of yasaka.  yasaka allround 40 is another good blade.

Yep, my friend who plays PH raves about the YE...although he plays now with Yasaka Max Wood PHC because its one of the fastest all wood blades...he doesn't like carbon or other synthetic materials as his touch shots are vastly affected.  He also recommends the Avalox 777 Blue Thunder...pretty heavy blades...but fast(he doesn't play light blades anymore).

Extra 2/Allround 40 is another great choice.

So that is the catch! No wonder that I could not find Yasaka Extra, because it is not the complete name. Thank you, Reachie85.

i have played with glaxy 2004, W6, T2, 896, 978 stiga energy wood, and yasaka extra.

In those cpen blades, i love yasaka extra most...although it is not fast, it gives u very good feeling on looping, and of cuz...it's one of the best blades for rpb.

However, if you r playing with fast attack style, i would recommand you to try stiga clipper wood.
