Today after playing. I went to super market.

I'd like to know my blade's weight. So I use the digital scale in super

market(It's used for vegetables)

...................

Oh ma goddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd !!!!!!!

It showed me 0.106 KG !!! Wacko  and then I went to the other machine

It showed      0.104 KG !!! Dead

I can't believe that, but it's the truth that my new kim is so heavy.

I hope that my blade is below 100g such as 90g-96g.

Maybe because of my sweat, but I think It doesn't effect to much.

Could I dry it by myself with a natural process ? What should I do?

I just wanna throw it into a micro-wave Pinch hahaha lol LOL kiddind kidding

For me(a university student) with this price,it's too expensive.

What do you think? Ouch

I  have a new cypress max which weighs 107.5 grams. I will give it a try to see if it is too heavy for me.

Please don't do anything on the blade to alter the weight. Trying to dry it will do only harm to the blade. If you can handle the blade, then it means it is suitable for you, so there is nothing to worry.

Thanks for your well-intentioned uncle aeoliah.

Um...Anyone please tell me heavier hinoki blade mean it's denser or it's

gain more water inside? Does heavier mean it's from outer core or

younger wood, right? It will be faster or slower?

I think I knew that it'd be softer for sure.

Thanks ^^

Wood is a natural product. When wood is air dried or kiln dried it is dried to a specific water saturation. If you go past this the wood will not be as strong and over time it will reabsorb moisture.Trees naturally hold more water than they need so this excess is removed.but it needs to have some moisture or it will crack so there is a fine line. When you air dry wood you stack it with gaps between for air flow .you then place it outside in a cool shaded area where ther is a good breeze. The wood is sometimes coated with mineral oil and you just let it sit for a long time. The wood naturally only gives off so much moisture air drying.Once this is done it is considered balanced not too much not too little. As you know no two trees are identical so this moisture let off will vary slightly. This is why most j pen will be +/- 10 grams and sometimes even more.Do not worry about the quality. The quality of hinoki used for table tennis blades is the best you can get.clear vertical grain hinoki is the best money can buy.One more thing technically a hinoki blade that had more moisture in it.would be better for tabletennis.Moisture helps greatly with impact resistance. So if your blade is a little heavier it is actually suited for tt better.Think about it what is easier to snap a dried old branch or a fresh cut green branch?
