To glue my rubber on to my blade I use Best Test One Coat rubber cement thinned with a tiny bit of Bestine glue remover. Will the new ITTF ban on speed glue also cover this method of attaching the rubber to the blade?
Thanks |

I don't think so. Only if you add solvents or maybe even thinners. I think that rubber cement on it's own is ok.

I've always wondered....does the glue ban affect all glues including ITTF approved normal glue? Because ITTF took ALL glue off the approved list, yet only mention that the ban affects speed glue...
Last I know, most normal glues are rubber cement WITH solvents added! |

The latest ITTF release says that if you let the racquet air out for 72 hours, all the illegal VOC's will dissipate. So, as long as you use the rubber cement 72 hours before a competition, you will be ok (which is nice, because glue sheets suck).

I wonder how they will test the blade whether it is using the approved glue or not.

Glue does not need approval. Rubber cement does have VOCs, so unless you air it as mdjenders mentioned, VOCs will be detected. All they will test for is VOCs, if they find them on your bat it will be illegal.
