Just to make sure I got this stuff right: (I know it's not true in every case, just as a general rule)
1. A soft blade has more feeling, more control, less speed and easier to spin with ? 2. A thicker sponge adds spin and speed ? 3. When we talk about the degree of the sponge, is it the same as density ? 4. When a rubber is soft, is it usually slower or faster ? More or less spinny ? It has smaller density than a hard rubber ? |

2. i disagree. It can only add speed in spin if you are hitting it hard enough. Think about it this way. You have a 1.9mm sponge, and a 2.2mm sponge. If you are not bottoming out the 1.9mm sponge, and it is only sinking so far, it will only sink the same distance in a 2.2mm sponge. Therefore, no more speed or spin is added....
However, with a 2.2mm sponge, you can hit the ball alot harder without it bottoming out....this is why you can get more speed and spin. Make sense? |

3. Density isn't the thickness. For exemple, sriver has density of 38, sriver EL 35, Sriver FX 33. Also Sriver G2 36, G2FX 32. And you can choe the thickness for all of them (1.9, 2.1, 2.5...) lildudejds 2. The however part kinda contradicts the 1st part ! |

How come bryce is very fast, but it doesn't have a 2.5 version, and the density is not that high (35, just like sriver EL !)

because the maximum thickness of sponge+rubber cannot exceed 4.0mm.
different sponge has different power, even with the same density, so this 'degree' is only an indication of how 'hard / soft' the sponge feels and not about its 'power. also the rubber has a role to play in speed - whether it was tensioned, the pip structure, the thickness of the surface of the rubber (not the pips nor the sponge), the hardness of the rubber etc. |
