i was wondering if it common practice to remove the rubber from the blade after you speed glue till the next time re attach them?

yes you should remove them because the glue expands the sponge and streches the topsheet,removing lets the rubber relax and it will shrink a little
until you glue again,if you follow this routine your rubber will last longer
