I can think of a couple advantages to combining sponges (a.k.a. double an triple sponging). I've seen it done, but I wonder if it's legal, illegal, or in the grey area with regard to tournament play?
It would be cool to have a nice firm base sponge, then a softer top sponge under the top sheet, or visa versa depending on your game! What do you think? Can we do it? Should we do it? |

What if I have two 1mm sponges+topsheet?
I think it might be cool to try if legal. For me it would be nice to have that firm base under a soft cushion. I'd have improved control, spin, and speed . . . a legitimate second gear when hitting hard! Any thoughts? I might be way off, but it makes sense to me. |

It's not legal.
1.4.3 More than one layer of cellular rubber (sponge) is not permitted, even if the layers are of the same composition. |

Hey Tommy,,,
I keep looking at my mouse pad for the putr. A ball bounces like crazy on it. Real bouncy sponge. I think I will try that and see what it does. |

If this double spongeing is legal then I would like to get an H3 sponge and H2 sponge and maybe Feint Long II OX and make a combo with that so longer it is not going to be more than 4mm

I have a nice mouse pad with a topsheet of the Beatles. I wonder if I can just use it as is. It's probably a great Anti . . . and fast! Let's do it!!!
