Hi guys, i'm new in here, i see you have a very nice forum.
Could you please compare Butterfly Photino with Maze (Arylate-Carbon)?
How are the ball throw arcs? How does the feel differ?

Thanks

KC is said to be faster - as for the arc, it is certainly not higher than Carbo-Arylate ones.

Yeah the Maze has a very low throw, and if the Photino is anything like the Mizutani it will also have a low throw angle.

A lot of it depends on the rubber you use, the Maze is good for power looping and driving as compared to the TBS, it is easier to vary the spins with the TBS.  Again I have not used the Photino but the Mizutani is very similar to the Maze in actual play.

Why is it easier to vary spins with the TBS, than the Michael Maze?

more dwell time on the TBS imo.
The difference is minor though.

For Photino Butterfly says : "... allowing for maximum spin to be created... Butterfly has created Photino for the modern topspin player ..." I tried today a Maze blade, I'm not delighted at all... also tried a Boll Tricarbon, and it seamed to me that it is easier to hit with it then with the Maze.
Photino differs from Amultart that it does not have carbon fibers, only Zylon fibers.

Anything about Photino?

I bought the photino not that long ago with tackifire on both sides and i really like it. Little vibration, but its very heavy. Love it for topspin.

Tackfire is a very heavy rubber so that is probably a big reason behind the heavy feel.  Did the photino have a medium/soft or a soft feel to it?

How was the short game and serving with the photino?

My serve isn't great, which is why I use agressive top side spin serves, which few people i play can return it consistantly. This mostly due to the great spin generated from the tackifire. So the serve is good. Short game is fine not muc to say.
