    Posted: 11/27/2007 at 11:56am
hi everybody,

I'm searching for new rubbers, especially for my fh. I used to play jo waldner, innova and bryce fx in 2,0 mm and 2,1 mm speed glued - now I'd like to try out some chinese stuff (I think they are way more cheaper than the stuff I played recently Wink)

I don't have some experience in chinese rubbers - so could somebody please help me?

thanks a lot!

i dont think there are any chinese rubbers which dare the same as these rubbers, since they are chinese and not japanese. if you're looking for a chinese rubber get ready to change your style.

Yeah, I second (or third?) Dawei Inspirit, but get the Quattro so you don't have to use speed glue.  Cole has a great price for it.

Just know that Insipirit and Inspirit Quatrro are somewhat heavy rubbers.  Certainly much heavier than Innova.  Not sure about Bryce.

Friendship 729-3 Japan (pink sponge, not trancendend or faster!!!)  is a good quality choice. Fast, low trow, not to hard and a little sticky. Its the best Friendship I've ever played with.

If weight is an issue, stick to regular inspirit, but yeah, inspirit or ins. quattro will do ya fine.

Six Shooter is another quality option.  It's non tacky, and unlike other chinese rubbers it's pretty light.

I've used over 30 blades and different kinds of rubbers so i can give you the advice because I'm a small dealer so I have chance to try different things.

First, all Chinese Rubbers are heavier than Japanese Rubbers.
Second, All chinese rubbers are harder in hardness than Japanese rubbers.
Third, all chinese rubbers have more tackiness and spin and MOST Japanese rubbers
Fourth, all chinese rubbers are CHEAPER.

FInally, they are not hard to adapt to Chinese Rubbers as people always say you need to change your stroke and style. I started with Japanese Rubbers when I started to learn to play, then I switched to chinese rubbers and I find no difficulty at all. It's even better for Short games. IN fact, it gives more benefits as follow: When you serve spin, it gives you more spin compared to Jap rubbers because of its nature. Also, it saves you money for at least half price. It also gives you very good feel and control like Wood blade compared to Composite blades. Nothing wrong with its speed. A little slower that way it gives you more control with your games and more feeling. The key of sucess in table tennis is to control and win the most rally. You don't win by speed. It just for beginners that hope to win by 1 shot. When you play against good players, you expect 3rd shot and more... so 1 shot does not mean anything. If you look for short term winning then go for Jap rubbers and composite blades.

Think about all Pro chinese players. A lot of them use Chinese rubbers and they have no problem in winning. That's the fact. Also, they use all wood blades. That's the fact too.

Inspirit Quattro from COLE is good. Give yourself a week to get use to it. It's good. Do not give up.
