He's obviously found himself using a regular shakehand paddle in a bastardized cpen grip... that's how I started and how one of my friends still insists on playing.

Jpenners hook their first finger onto the cork to give themselves extra grip when forehand driving.

Cpen paddles sometimes have larger heads (the hitting area) and shorter but thicker and wider handles.

and i have to say that's one rockin paddle the j pen.

On the penhold handle I cut down, I think I cut it to 3.25 inches. I wanted about one inch of extra handle extending past my hand.
