I finally realised why it is imperative to change a Tensor rubber once per three or so months.

It's simply because it gets softer and the whole feel changes.

After 3 moths of playing with the Tango Extrem everyday, the last 3 times I have played with it, the feel was noticably softer than from a new sheet.

Man, this is more reason to spend more money on TT stuff Ouch

i thought it would just "wear out" than just any other normal rubber, hence y ppl change?

My Xtend HS feels the same after 6 months. My friend used to use Tango Extrem as well and his got harder and less dynamic over time, especially the topsheet.

nah, i don't feel softness on my xtend and energy after 5 months now, its still the same to me.

tango tears very easily and i will not buy this rubber anyn=more.it is pretty expensive and i have found a nice alternative to tensor

You'd better go to Bryce Speed. I got one as soon as it was released (set/07) and after this 6+months it's still perfect. And I expect it to last another 6 months.
