I use regular rubber cement. After I glue my rubbers down I let it sit for a day so all the VOCs air out.

~12 dollars for one pint in US where I bought it. For the last question, I think Google search (or any online search engine) will be your best bet. |

It's pretty fast. I'd say less than 20 min for rubbers that were treated with Lamp Oil and glued onto an unsealed wooden blade. I bounced the ball on it and it looks dried. I didn't play with it because I am still nursing a wrist injury. I used a Clicky Press, I'd think you probably don't need it unless the rubber is very domed. For the last two questions I haven't gotten to that part yet, so I can't answer. Sorry. I will be gluing up two more setups (one is a sealed blade and another is a Stiga Crystal blade) and I will report later how this glue worked on them. |

Ditto that. However if you really want to use VOC free I found BTY Free Chack to have the strongest bond (necessary for tuned rubbers that are still little domed) - and it is stronger then rubber cement.

I don't think it's that kind of glue you have in mind. The closest color I can use to describe it would be beige (bear in mind I am not too good in color). No smell. Just some very faint odor that I can hardly smell it. The label says it's acid free, non-toxic, water based and no solvents. |

so can you use any random glue to put your rubbers on if its voc etc is within the ittf specifications for glue? Does it have to be ittf approved?

Do you play any ITTF tournaments? If not it is even OK for you to use speed glue.

After using Clean Fix Extra, I tried Elmer's regular nontoxic glue (for school use) because I think they feel and smell pretty much the same. Elmers takes longer to dry, but besides that I can't tell the difference. |

I think the ITTF requirements for the glue are: VOC-free and no banned substances (chemicals) used. As long as those requirements are satisfied, you can use any glue you want. One thing I am not certain is that are there other requirements beside those two I mentioned? Or maybe we really need to use ITTF approved glues, but I haven't seen any list of approved glues on ITTF website. Hopefully people who know more about ITTF regulations will chime in. |

The label on a Clean Fix Extra bottle said "In agreement with ITTF guidelines". There is not ITTF approved seal. So I guess Elmers School glue should be good. It is water base and nontoxic.

PPQ - Is there a different forum member by the nickname of Flicker you are refering to? Perhaps you want to clarify. I certainly am not selling any kind of glue. I just want to clarify since several people on this forum has IM'ed me regarding the glue. I just don't want people to be misled. Thanks.

Could anybody post a picture of a "regular" rubber cement that you use instead of tt glue? Is it a specific type of rubber cement that you can use or just any rubber cement?
Im not even sure I can buy rubber cement here in Iceland |
