I need to get some regular glue. Can some one tell me where I can get reasonable priced regular glue?

If you live in the US then Hobby Lobby, Michaels or any other crafts store. I would suggest Best-Test rubber cement. $8 for 250mL.

Do any regular gluers actually buy table tennis glues? I only hear about Cement glues being used

I understand that Elmer's or Best-Test are noticeably thicker than specialized TT glue like Tibhar Individual or Nittaku Dine?
Perhaps they need to be thinned out with smth? |

No, water won't mix with glue. It has to be some mild solvent. |

the stores usually sell a thinner next to the rubber cement. I lightly varnish my blades so that the plys don't tear off.

I might have goofed on this but it is my very firm suspicion that oil-based chemicals (glues, for instance) and water do not mix... ever spilled some gasoline into a bucket of water or a puddle?

Yeah... this sounds like a good plan. Or perhaps, one should mix some PO with Elmer's and get smth like a glue-tuner...? |

I just didn't want to state that as an absolute fact - after all, I am not a chemistry major... and who knows what super marvelous achievements have been made in chemistry for the last 20 years or so... |

Seems that the more proper combination would be to prime the sponge first with a very light layer of Elmer's and then use PO for tuning. |
