I had a chance to hit with the Tenergy 2.1 yesterday evening. It was a red topsheet with a red sponge. It was a shade on the herder side of medium. The topsheet was not sticky or tacky. However, it was really grippy.

The throw angle was very high, and it had a very high arc. For brush/spin looping, I really needed to come over the top of the ball with a more horizontal stroke. If I were to have spin looped with a 45 degree arm trajectory, it tossed the ball long every time. Other than looping over the top, a drive-loop worked very well. The high throw made a drive loop seem likea very spinny brush-loop, but faster.

The speed of the rubber at it's highest speeds is quite fast - but falls short of the Bryce variants. On the other hand, it has a lot of gears from very slow, to quite quick. All topspin shots generate very good spin.

If I were to describe the rubber in term of other Butterfly equipment, I would say that it has the topsheet tack of tackiness drive, the sponge hardness and gears of Sriver, the throw angle and speed of Cermet.

I think this will be a very good variation-looper's rubber. Slow, fast, varied placement, always spinny.

I played it for the 1st time today. Its sound is very loud when hit properly. Speed glue effect? Not much, thought I felt the sponge to be very soft. I can't believe BTY says Tenergy 05 has same sponge degree of Bryce Speed, the feeling is totally different.
Bryce Speed -> faster and medium/hard feeling
Tenergy 05 -> spinny and soft feeling, almost like a tensor rubber.

i think it's because of the different topsheet. Tenergy probably has a more dynamic topsheet.

It feels like a tensor but doesn't have speed glue effect??, can you elaborate a little bit more?

Actually I don't use speed glue for so long time that I can't remember it anymore. LOL
No, serious, I said its softness is like a tensor rubber's, producing a loud click, but I haven't felt such a SG effect. Maybe I have a poor hand feeling...

I can't say for sure. As I said it was my first training session with this rubber and what I wrote was just first impressions. Maybe in next sessions I discover something new. For now I say it has:
- loud click
- high throw angle
- soft sponge
- lower speed than Bryce Speed

So it's slower than Bryce Speed. Is it faster than normal Bryce?

I think it's the hardness of the sponge.

How heavy is the tenergy, compare to Xtend?  How hard is the sponge and tackiness of the top sheet compared to Xtend?  I see that you have Xtend on the back, what's the thickness?

You heard it right. Tenergy has 48g cut in the size of Juic Kiso-Hinoki Shake while Xtend has 41g. Both rubbers are in the maximum thickiness available.
About the topsheet, Tenergy's is not as soft as Xtend but I would say spinnier.

Q: What blades are you folks using with Tenergy?

I'm using a Donic Persson Dotec Off. and this is quite
a powerful combination. Some quick impressions:
- There's a definite catapult effect on strong swings,
like a rubber tuned with CTE.
- It's much livelier than Solcion or even JP Gold on the
same blade
- It really rewards a good brush with very spinny loops

I haven't played with Bryce nor speed glued
rubbers for any length of time, so I can't really
compare.

I am happy to here that people seem to like tenergy. Now what is the difference between grippy and tacky.

I hit Metalone's Tenergy mine is coming middle of next week with my SI Amultart.... =) Metalone has a Darker Speed with Tenergy 05 on f/h and b/h... he was experimenting with it during his lesson. I went over and tried his. I'm glueing still and this Tenergy felt very springy and very very very very fast..... Metalone did not speed glue his and you are not supposed to tune or glue TENERGY. He had used a volatile compound free glue. Even though this Tenergy was very very very fast. I have two sheets coming red and black 2.1 from Iruiru along with my new blade. My new Amultart blade with Tenergy on f/h and maybe TAckifire C soft for b/h is what i'm thinking but this Tenergy is very very very fast =(. It maybe too fast for me. I like the arc but my Provincial H3 speed glued was slower and had more control.

I'm very concerned because Sean(Metalone) has a Darker Speed a 1 piece hinoki blade and he says his Amultart is faster. Amultart with Tenergy maybe too fast for my game. This is a concern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
