Rather overdue, but here are some pics of a grandfather Acoustic, an ancient, much used, and much loved Acoustic. I bought it maybe straight after it came out in around April 2005. The label on the handle sticks out a bit, so I have to use it on the BH side (in my palm) otherwise its right where my fingers go and feels funny. Not sure if its QC, but I havent seen any of the newer ones with that problem so I guess its been fixed.    Edited by Vassily - 10/29/2011 at 6:37am |

what handle is most viewed on the Acoustic/Violin? FL or ST?
I have a Acoustic ST and I am thinking buy Acoustic FL. My hand is normal size but my fingers are small. Pros of ST: more control Pros of FL: more handling for topspin what do you think? |

Vassily, thanks for uploading the pictures. The one you have has the same grain as mine. I bought it in 2006, probably is made in 2005.
But I saw in Beijing in 2005 has a nice limba grain same as Silvalis Acoustic FL. Probably it's the same batch. |

You may try to buy Gold plate Acoustic FL, it's bigger than old Acoustic FL. ST is better for backhand loop, can place the ball easier than FL. But I like FL better because it's better gripped in my hand not feeling as it will slip off my hand as the ST version. |

The head size is bigger than the normal Violin, and the handle is very big. Must sand the handle to your personal preference size. |

Manage to buy the 1st generation of Violin in Taiwan, this one is even look older than my 2006 Violin.
The wood is different, it has darker color at the side. and the wing is sealed. 2006 Violin isn't sealed.    I would like to thanks my sister in law who takes photos in the shop for me  |

I have total of 17 blades, I've just remembered that I own 1 Tenaly Acoustic which I forgot to put it on the list. Tommy Zai reminds me that  About Violin 1st Generation, it's more flexible and has more dwell than the current Violin (L-sized) Not sure whether because of the bigger head size or the material. My main setup still Acoustic L-sized 93.5 gr with H3 National and T05, it's the best setup that I won't change it. Change to Omega IV Pro, Sigma Pro, then TG3 Ma Long, still H3 is the best rubber on FH for me. |

Welcome to the club, and soon you'll have Violin next  Btw, now I move back to Violin again, it's an old story, keep changing from acoustic-violin-acoustic etc... But the latest change from Acoustic to Violin I found it's more stable, a bit slower but gives you more confident using your own strength. Boosting H3 with Dian Chi with Violin is fast enough already, more confident in smashing too |

I played with my Violin once three months ago, and also tried Acoustic. I don't know why but I always feel that Violin has better feel compared to Acoustic. Acoustic is a bit faster though. Both are excellent blades (they should be considering the price, otherwise I would be mad
 ).

I agree wholeheartedly with what Peter and doraemon say about the feel and slightly slower pace/increased control with the Violin which leaves us free to use our power more freely. I also like the name more than Acoustic :).
If I had the money would I own both? Ummm.... well....... YES!! |
