My uncle is wondering about Tenergy.

He currently uses Bryce Hard (Bryce regular as second option) unglued. He wants to know:
1. Is the Tenergy much more spinier?
2. How much would the hardness difference be in real play?
3. Is the bounce time faster than the Bryce Hard (or Bryce)? He wants to have a rubber with fast bounce time (short dwell time) not necessarily faster speed rubber if you get what I mean...

Hey Rokphish,

Not a good choice.

Bryce Hard - pretty low throw, very fast bounce time
Tenergy - VERY high throw, good dwell time

The only positive for your uncle going to Tenergy is that it is spinnier than Bryce Hard.

Never tried Bryce Hard, but I have tried normal Bryce. Works well when speed-glued. Post speed glue era, I think Tenergy 05 would be a better rubber. However, Tenergy 05 is a non-tacky but grippy rubber, characteristics of which would be different from Bryce. As such, you may need to adjust your strokes a little if you're used to using Bryce.

As for me, the rubber fits my game, so I didn't need to adjust my strokes. Smile

If he likes Bryce Hard is better go to Bryce Speed.

He tried Bryce Speed FX before and didn't like it...

Perhaps other rubbers with shorter dwell time than bryce/hard?

Bryce Speed Fx is a lot softer than Bryce Hard or Bryce Speed.

He used to play with Hurricane 3 rubber and liked the spin. But his stamina isn't as good as before so he kind of switch to Japanese rubbers and ended up with Bryce Hard. He likes to loop but because of stamina he now block more with occasional loop.
