I am just curious on this gling thing. I ordered toay and wil hopefully get it in 3 days :) My first step to being serious!

I bought "Stiga lacquer". Should this be applie on the whole rackert? or just the handle? And is the glue just to add a thin layer and put on the rubber smooth, then cut around with a knife?

ANy tips are welcome! :)

don`t put laquer on handle it will be harder to grip if you do,just apply to blade faces.apply glue to sponge and blade and make sure it`s dry before applying ,i find it easier to cut the rubber after you have stuck it to the blade ,make sure you roll the rubber onto the blade using something cylindrical or roller so not to get air bubbles

same basic technique as this tutorial, jusr read directions on the stiga lacquer stuff, drying time is important probably at least a day if it is lacquer based, but again read the directions and follow them. i use either an extremely sharp (new) utility knife or a pair of good scissors using only the part close to the hand in small cuts. utility knife is usually the way to go...
also, press between some heavy books for a good while after you have all the bubbles out (if you do it right should not be bubbles)

Once you have lacquered your blade, it might be a little hard to attach the rubbers, so I suggest you sand it very gentle around the corners.

Also, when you apply glue, start gluing at the edges of the blade first, then cover the whole blade. Once attached, put some books or other heavy stuff on top of it for a couple of minutes and you should be fine.

Good luck!

So what i do is fist lacquer the blade(not handlle). Wait for a day. Sand it a bit.
Then i glue the blade, let it rest for 10min.(do this 3 times) Then i glue the rubber. Let it rest for 10min.(the blade now rested 40min?) Then put the rubber on the blade with no additional glue?

Thanks guyes!:)
