Translated from a chinese website.
Speed: H2#19 > TG3#21blue > TG3#21orange > TG2#19 > H3#19 > TG3#20 > TG2#20. Spin: TG2#20 > TG3#20 > H3#19 > TG2#19 > TG3#21orange > TG3#21blue > H2#19. Most provincial and national players use around 38 hardness sponge. Do you agree? :) and something interesting... reviews said that the new product use tensor equivalent technology. Speed glue may cause bubbles! There is now sponge no19, no20, no21, no22 in the market. There are commercial, provincial and national versions. To make it more complicated, there are hardness of range 35 to 43 on both Hurricane and Skyline. Last thing, there are also color differences: blue, orange (there are 2 different shades of orange). DHS really makes things complicated ;) Nittaku and TSP also comes into the picture... hahhahaha.. with their own mixed DHS products |

Charlesj, does this mean you can get #21 in blue (I guess all blue sponge is 21?) and also in orange? so I should be able to find the same sponge as blue but in orange with a red topsheet? :D. I hope this is true

well, not sure if the above speed and spin rating is true...
but just remember... DHS rubbers is still inconsistent. you may get a mild tacky one... but the next one you get may be ultra tacky. |

so meaning it has the same tackiness level? and hurricane topsheet is more tacky than skyline? Is that the case for those new products that you tried? According to some reviews on no.19 products, the topsheet is a lot less tacky as compared to the old regular no.20 series. They said that it is now only mild tacky! This is the thing I don't like to hear, because I like tacky products :) |

c'mon now... it's not exactly rocket science to figure those out...
we will always have incomplete information regarding a product due to person reviewing them are all different and have their own perception and liking which are different as well. if you really want to know for sure, then get one of each and compare them yourself. I'm sure except the national version, you could get one of each without too much of a difficulty. otherwise whatever information is there out there will not satisfy you 100%. |

Charlesj, I've tried all 4 DHS Hurricane and Skyline topsheets, I don't really care about any of them except the Blue sponge H2 because for me that's the best one, followed closly by normal commerical H2 :). I highly doubt I'll ever buy another sheet of TG2,TG3 or H3, You really need to try all 4 and decide yourself which topshet you like then fine tune it with the sponge you like

hey nicefrog: I just started playing a provincial H3 #21 (blue sponge) and I'm so curious about the H2. I like lower throw rubbers.. which is a problem with the H3. I still like its characteristics.. my one qualm is the higher throw than I'm used to, or like. H2 provincial #21 wont happen, thats unfindable as of now i think.. but if i can find a commercial #21 H2.. i want to give it a try. What were problems you had with each other DHS rubber.. i know virtually nothing about the TG/skylines at all. What didn't you like about H3?

Among the top 30s , only Wang Hao and Ma Lin use skyline and they are the top 2 players. They both do RPB. I really wonder who else use skyline...
There must be a reason for that? :) |

I've never played with the H3 blue but I'd like you to buy the H2 and play a game with two black rubbers and compare them on the same blade side by side :). I'm not interested in buying anymore H3's so I can't do that myself but it would be interesting. The only issue I have with H3 apart from throwing a bit high for my game/blade (and the H2 happens to be a perfect height for me) is that H3 freaks out when really hit hard some times and shoots off the table in a almost straight line once in a while, H2 doesn't do that, I just find it not consitant when hit at full pace. The H2 has more meat in it's structure to it so handles that kind of treatment better. I don't like the Skylines as much as the H2, they are a lower powered rubber (thinner top sheet) and don't seem so tacky, I can't really decide which one of them is the better but I and the guy at my club that plays with one each of them for the last couple of years on his blade lean torwards TG2 as the favorite

I don't agree with the statement that most pro's play with 38. At least it used to be most pro's who used chinese rubbers were using 42-45deg. That may have changed since the glue ban though.

That's a great suggestion.. I'll have to do that- compare them side by side. I think with this version of H3 though, that problem with not being able to hit full paced isn't there. I hit pretty hard.. most likely not as hard as you though.. lol, and the ball always has a nice drop. But the throw is just a little high. My stroke is more suited for a lower throw rubber because thats most comfortable. I'd rather spend another 25 dollars then change what im comfortable with. I'll end up giving it more time to see if i like it more. This is all on the DHS #1 intensifier though.. which really livens up the rubber.
But... i hit a few BH with this H3 and it fit really well.. my BH is more crisp and refined. Better technique. So it adjusts easily to a new rubber.
Where do you get your H2? OOAKT?

Yes I get mine from OOAK, I still have H3 on my backhand, I don't really care too much what I use on my backhand as I don't loop from there more than a couple times a game (just a shot I keep for shock value when I need it on an important point). The pro's all hit very hard and most of them seem to be fine with H3 but alot of the big hitters on the forum have has issues with it and prefer H2. Also the VERY big hitting pro's do use H2 so there's probably something in that even with the high end sheets/rubbers/glues they use it seems to be an advantage for the stronger and especially shakehand pros.
Also all my comments and almost all the other guys here on this forum that like and use H2 don't glue at all so there maybe something in that

So for those we have used the no19 or no21 products...
Are their top sheets as tacky as before? (eg. compared with the regular Hurricanes) I don't want to get something non tacky. |

For those who tried all the new generation no19 and no21 Hurricanes and/or Skylines...
Are they as tacky as the old generation Hurricanes and Skylines? The old hurricane used to be more tacky than Skyline and H2 is the most tacky. So is this still the same for the new generation rubbers? |

I have the old commerical, blue commerical and number 19 commercial, all in H2 all are the same tackyness, same topsheet. It's still VERY tracky and will easily lift a ball. Buy one allready man :P
