I couldn't tell you about VII, but i do have the Bty kiso hinoki V and the TBS, so take it or leave it : )

It's been a while since i played with the hinoki blade, but it's considerably slower, but with great control. Relatively soft too which wasn't a match for any of my soft tensors at the time. Way too springy with something like Donic Platin Soft MAX.

TBS is fast! but not too fast. Large sweet spot. A great match for a rubber like Tenergy 05 which has a relatively hard top sheet but with a sponge that isn't too hard. T05 gives me an an awesome short and opening game. Better overall feeling with the ball than the hinoki blade on loops and drives and blocks and chops, but it requires technique.

have you seen a kiso hinoki VII in person? It is very small, 145x152 head size. You might not like it if you don't like compact blades.
