Just received my Nittaku Acoustic today but there's no reference as to whether it's already come sealed from the factory (there were some posts suggesting that it does). So far I've read some conflicting views about this.

Can anyone confirm?

Question: Is the Acoustic (and Violin) Sealed by the factory?
Answer: Not enough to be useful, especially in this new era of water-based glues. If you don't seal, you'll be sorry; however, if you make a mess sealing, you'll also be sorry.

Do you use waterbased glue? If you do, I suggest you to seal 1 0r 2 layers of waterbase sealer from Donic or Xiom.
If you use common VOC glue, it's no need sealing, it comes with lightly factory sealed.

No, Acoustic is not pre-sealed by factory. But the wood finish is good enough, so there is no need to have it sealed.

Water based glues are just that, they have water in them. Wood will soak in some of the water. Seal it. Smile

BB, can't believe that you finally bought Accoustic
trust me, your last blade combination suits you better
but, you cant resist the temptation of having that accoustic, can uConfusedConfused

good luck trying accoustic, by lookin at your stroke i really advise you to have previous combination though

The temptation has proven too strong to resist I'm afraid. But don't worry - no other blades interest me anymore (for now haha). :)

I would be surprised that you would choose Acoustic over your Darker Speed 90. If you let go your Darker, let me know LOL
