Adham says they will be checking rubbers for stretching. (modifying rubber from as tested)
Are not tensors called that because the top sheet is stretched by the manufacturing process? If true, they will have to ban them. What next??? |

If coverings are not allowed to be stretched, then it's true . . . the ban will most certainly go into effect! I would be very careful about investing too much in tensor rubbers. Look at all the poor slobs who bought frictionless pips only to have their value sucked out by a hairbrain ITTF ban.

I going to stick to Sriver L, EL, FX and Tackiness rubbers. Plus they are cheaper as well.

Maybe one day ITTF will ban rubbers that can pickup balls as well. Too tacky.

I know three or four players who are selling off their tensors after hearing about this potential ban. Based on all the other unjustified banning . . . this might actually be true.

I have several friends who are going hardbat as a result of all this nonsense. At least the hardbat federation or whatever they call themselves has a very clear and simple list of rules.
With the International Tick Tock Federation . . . Frictionless GONE. Speedglue and tuners GONE. Tensors soon to be GONE! |

I'm sure Tensors are not the only ones that have the topsheet under tension...

haiz... why can't the folks at ITTF stop messing around with equipment rules?
cos i think it'll never end. whatever rules that are already in place is applicable to all player so
it is fair. if a player is not good enough to win another, then he/she is ,simply, not good enough.
if they are trying to slow down the sport for spectators. it'll never end as well cos equipment manufacturers
will come up with something to increase speed & power.
eg, the advancement of tensors / tension rubbers is a result out of regulation IMO.

if things continue then they might as well make all rubbers standard Like the engines in A1 racing.
All those cars engines are the same so the driver has to rely on his skill and not the engine. It won't be as exciting but it will definitely put everyone on equal footing |

following the f1 rules - we'll make all the professionals play with an all or all + blade (maybe like the andrez grubba) and the same rubber, liker a sriver el and see who 's in the top 5. wow. what a nasty thought. |

If I am not mistaken is it is against the users who strech not against the rubbers with higher tension.
If a player streches - due to the regulations - he modifies the rubber. If he uses eg. HT rubber it meets the requirements.

What do you mean by the top sheet of tensors are stretched?
Tensor rubbers get their name because the manufacturers stretch the topsheet mechanically prior to gluing to the sponge, thereby creating tension that simulates the effect speedglue does to the sponge. Speedglue expands the sponge to create the tension on topsheet chemically, while tensor rubbers are done mechanically. Either way it's a clear violation of rule 2.04.07, as ITTF only gives approval to top sheets as submitted by manufacturers without sponge.

1. If you are right we would be able to use boosters because it has effect only on sponge .... I am sure the requirements speak about rubber + sponge.
2. Almost all the new coverings marked 'ITTF XX-YYY' has tensioned rubber from Xiom through Butterfly to Tibhar and Andro. Do you think that the manufacturers had developed that stuff if tensiond rubbers would be banned?

i think it's about manually stretching rubbers before gluing them onto the blade that way u modify ur rubber which is illegal but tensors have tension built-in when they are manufactured so idont think tensors will b banned....... i hope not i just switched from Mark V to roxon 500 and i love it
