I swear there was a thread on this in the past but I searched and can't find it.
What's a typical chopper racket setup? Specifically: 1. What blade characteristics are desired (aside from slow)? Flexy or stiff? Hard or soft? 2. What type of inverted rubber do choppers often use on FH? Like Joo, Chen Weixing, etc. and what sponge thickness? 3. What type of long pips is used for chopping? The grippier type, or the more reversing types? Sponge thickness? Thanks. |

Hey !!! Are u a chopper ?
Blade characteristics :
should havehigh control .... should absorb the attack well w/o much vibration .. should have a large head and have some acceleration for the modern defence game . like joo's his blade is hard ..so the pimples bend more for max spin reversal and heavy backspin .. and its fast for quick attac and counter-spin !!! ( very costly blade for me though )
FH Rubber :
best for def players are um.. Tackifire D 1.9 mm like joo even Koji M uses Tackifire i think .. there is also Tackiness ..!
The FH rubber should be high in control , backspin and bit aggressive for offensive shots too !
BH Pimples :
the characteristics u want depends on the person as each pimples are different ! For max backspin u dont need sponge (OX) ... or for less control with more attack opportunities u can use sponge !
There are hard and soft pimples like Donic Aligator is hard !
depends on the person suit ur style of play !

If my memory serve me right, Joo has always used 1.2mm~. He has tried couple different long pip through his career. He does kept the spong thickness around that level.
And.. no.. Curl-P1 can not have a 1.8 sponge as it's impossible to kept it under 4 mm in rule. |
