What's the weight of your primary blade rubber included? Just realized that my former primary blade (Persson Powerplay with Vario/Blues 160g) is 13g lighter than my current Clipper with Boost TC at 173g. Even though it's only 13g lighter I can really feel the difference in how fast I can move the blade, and during a training session I probably do around 500 strokes which means that I have moved 6.5kg extra with the Clipper durring that time. So what's your experince with blade weight and what do you currently use? Do you train your wrist, use a ligther blade or really don't mind the weight?

For me, having a heavy racket is like training with dumbells. What I mean is that it builds muscles, overtime when you get used to it, all weights that are lighter than the heavy racket will be easy to swing but very very rackets are what you should avoid. It will destroy you.

My current setup is around 178g. It's neither too heavy nor light... Gives me a good mid-distance power and control.
Although I think I would go for something just a bit lighter... I'd say low 170's would be ideal. |

My active rackets range from 160g to 182g. The weight of the rackets do not bother me as much as how they feel. May be my arm is not sensitive enough to notice the weight difference |

I don't mind very heavy setups just playing a few matches but if you are playing a tournament that goes for two or three days then man.... those 20 or 30 grams make a HUGE difference to how sore your arm/shoulder/everything will be mid way through the tournament and how well you can play on the 2nd/3rd day

Great, thanks for the answers! I can conclude that my blade is not that heavy Anyways, I was thinking about trying out some Chinese products, could you recommend a blade that is similar to Clipper with a little more speed but lighter? (if such a blade exists?)

I have 3 blades that I use.
Primary Yasaka Extra 3D ( Gatien ) (85g) with Yasaka GPS 2.0 on both sides is 173g Backup blade - Nittaku KCZ (82g) with Nittaku Refoma 2.0 both sides - 173g Fun Fast Blade or my Uber Backup Blade :) - Tibhar Samsonov Carbon (90g) with Stag Thunderspin 2.0 both sides - 173 grams. I've picked the rubber combinations and blades to fit the same weight in order to eliminate weight from comfort adjustment when switching to these blades. So they mostly vary by speed and touch. |

My oversize blade + rubbers weigh between 135 gm ~ 144 gm. The Tenergy adds up some weight.

Lighter and faster blade would be probably Galaxy T-2 or T-4, both can be found with weight around 80 g, both very fast and bouncy, T-4 would have more control, I'd say. |

I seem to like 85 to 90 gram blades + 45 + 45 = close to 180 grams setups.
Tenergy can be close to 50 grams and in that case we better have a 90 grams blade or a lighter one with a balance closer to the handle (if you like neutral balance). |

My curent setup is T4 84gr with coppa gold 2.0 and desto f3 2.0 (44 & 43gr) and it is powerful enough even though it's a bit light @ 171g.

It seems the T-2 (on paper T-4 is 9g more...) is exactly was I was looking for, very light and fairly fast And I think I have found some good spinny/sticky rubbers from DHS and Friendship to go with that. Thanks for the tip!

I think he forgot to tell you that One side must be a thin pimple rubber - which is considerably lighter than Conventional Smooth rubbers. |

Not sure how you can have a setup that only weighs 144grams with Tenergy on it...unless you have only 1 Tenergy and just a color sheet on the other side? |

My setups are from 174 thru 185 grams... as always I think that balance here is way more important that extra 8-10 grams of weight

One thing I started doing recently whenever I needed to bring the weight down - I glue rubbers about 1/8 - 1/4 inches away from the handle. Nothing extreme, just a small gap. That does make my setup a little bit less head heavy.

You guys have got it right. The balsa blade is little faster, so I stick to the OX version. That's what I have used for the Nationals also.
