Not a very forgiving rubber. First time LPers should try something easier.

you might want to try Friendship 755 or 837, cheap and easy to play with IMO |

In the TSP Curl series, there are other long pips called TSP Curl P-H, TSP Curl P3 and TSP Curl P3AlphaR. The TSP Curl P-H is a long pips similar to TSP Curl P-H and other are little shorter than TSP Curl P1R.
The TSP Curl P3 and TSP Curl P3AlphaR are little easy to use - helps chops, blocks and hittings. You can try one of them in sponge size 0.6. After you become good with it, you can migrate to TSP Curl P1R.
XIOM has a long pips called XIOM Guillotine. It is a tensor long pips and forgiving. It comes in 1.2 mm and 1.6 mm sponge size only.

"Has anyone tried Kokutaku 911 in 0.5 sponge" Hi Varghesep, I had try it with a .5 sponge, it make a way faster then I thought, still good control, but you lose the alot of spin reversal, then it become more like a med pips.

I have a friend who has tried the OX version. He has told me Kokutaku 911 OX is slower and good for blocking top spin. He has not found a way to handle the pushes.

Varghesep, I like it in OX, the " heavy" underspin, you need to go forward and to the side, more like a punch action, if you watch Chen Wei Xing, you can see he does that on all the underspin reutrns, this 911 work great when you do that, it can put some funk in it.

TSP Curl P1r the choice of several members of the Korean national team. Great rubber to chop with and win points. I have been playing with it for several years and love it. It is great also for messing up other people's long pips when you play them (but it takes practice).
CHEERS!

I found the 911 is fast with some sponge and very slow in OX...
I think the bright white sponge must be mean for attacking... it will probably play better when suit with a deader sponge. |
