Yes, Igor did great! In the 7th, on deuce, but he did it. Honestly, I didn't think he would be capable. But I think Dima is still not very stable - that certainly helped. Igor is very calm and he is not subject to teenage nervousness.

Now, for him it's Suss. It will really depend on the physical-mental form they will exhibit tomorrow. It can go either way...

Oh! I didn't expect that they will have to play preliminary rounds :O.

the chinese pairings were changed; refer to this:

"Entry Deadline
The seeding for the doubles events is made at the time of the entry deadline, explained Didier Leroy, the ITTF Competition Manager on duty in Kuwait. Following the deadline, we were advised that the Chinese team pairings were to be changed; any changes made after the deadline automatically means that any new pairings compete in the qualification stage."

i thiink suss service game as well as his return of service was much better in the first 3 games.in the 3 games that ryu won suss had trouble returning the serves it was 9-9 all in the 6th game.overall he played a very good tactical match agains ryu not allowing him to step around the forehand as much as ryu would have like to and also suss made quite a few service errors neart the end.

Are there any young upcoming players with Ryu's style of play? I'm not sure if Ryu can be as successful as he used to be, especially since the glue ban. He has to use so much energy to hit those winners, how much longer till he gets "too old"?

Women's Doubles QF on right now... Jiang Huajun + Tie Yana vs. Stefanova Nikoleta + Wenling Tan Monfardini.

I'm sort of disappointed... out of all the games they could be covering, they aren't covering Zhang Yining + Guo Yue.  Confused

Edit: Looks like Zhang Yining + Guo Yue match was not played, for whatever reason.

He he he ... Rather funny, though I'm Danish like Maze ... You're right, I don't think he has ever beaten Timo, although rumours say he has once or twice (must've been in training matches in the early 90s) ...
Looking forward to seeing the matches, esp. the dancing Belarussian bear, however, I would've loved to see one of the Chinese phenomena ...

I saw Maze winning twice over Boll when Maze was still playing in Germany. That was before his antics became worse.

Maze is either going to throw his shoulder out.....or get tired of running back and forth soon!    Boll has such excellent touch control.    Hopefully this will be a close match.
