Ok, all Super Master Robots are now being made with higher quality wheel/head motors. Since they did this, they are not putting in an extra motor with the robot and feel it is not necessary. You can tell which version of the robot this is by the # inside the manual. It would read 090101 and upwards. IE...all robots made after Jan, 9 would be the new version. Also, some of you want to know what the warning info is in the front of the manual. Here is a fairly accurate translation. 1. New balls may be dusty/powdery from manufacturing process, wash
dusty new balls, use water that is room temperature (25C), you can use
shampoo to wash balls, but make sure you rinse balls well after washing.
2. You must use 40mm, do not use balls that are bigger or smaller
than 40mm. Use authentic balls such as DHS or Double Fish balls.
3. You will need to clean the robot and balls every so often.
Make sure you clean the ball pick up area of any hair, dust, or other
impediments, as well as the balls. This is important to assure proper
working condition for the robot.
4. Do not use any broken, dented, or inferior quality balls!

Is this the new way of cleaning balls? From the other threads I've read, it's just soaking the ball with water and wipe with towel. |

Ritkuro....you can clean balls in many diff ways. The translation is from Chinese to English. Sometimes words do not translate exactly from one language to another. But in this case.....those words are very close. They are general warnings or instructions. I for one would not use shampoo...more like a bit of dish washing soap if any soap at all.

Rich215 - are you saying that the new robots only have one motor, or are you saying that they supplied a spare motor with the older style robots and it still has two motors to throw the balls with?

metalone....
The Super master still uses 2 motor wheels....just that they upgraded the actual motors with better ones. In the past, they used to give an extra motor in case of failure. |

Yes it is easy to replace (reason they give every customer a spare)
Washing the balls is very important but do not worry it does not damage the robot. The rubber strap in rotatary motor cannot grab the balls properly when dusty and cause some poor quality spin/frequency. It does not matter how you wash the balls as the reason you wash it is getting the powder off. Simple water and hand rub is enough to get powder off. It is like washing anything else. No need to get too technical about temperature, detergent etc. |
