I'm convinced the KLH uses the same DNA as a Avalox P500, but different shape. I'm thinking the Clearfield is the same as the P700. Anybody have a comparison?

Not sure about Clearfield, but KLH is indeed a modified Avalox P500.  As I remember, Kong Ling Hui used P500 when he became world champion in 1995.  I think after BTY sponsored him, he used this KLH for awhile and later on switched to KLH Special.

@Tiehwen:  P500 and KLH above have koto outer-ply, but OC has limba outer ply, so I think  KLH is  closer to P500, rather than to OC.  Somehow, I remember reading somewhere that original OC also had koto outer-ply?

it'd be just fabulous if some1 could find a KLH-An w/o serial # for me. Come to think of it n after looking @ those pics. again, it's 5 plys (plies) composition/cross section does look like P500 and also that Xiom Fuga n the Fuga's thickness is more or less 5.0mm to 5.5mm..
The bottom line is that Avalox P500 worths every penny but KLH is quite a collectible.

I've just received KLH wood. Weight 83,8 gr from my digital scale. The thickness is 5,5 mm< id="google-toolbar-hilite-1" style=": Cyan; color: black;">< id="google-toolbar-hilite-2" style=": Cyan; color: black;">, the same as my Vioncello. Compared to H-WL, KLH is slower, softer, has more dwell time. The construction of both blades is very similar.

My 2 Cents :

I used to play with the Butterfly KLHS and I've received  from China 1 week ago these 2 "all wood" Kong Linghui blades.

First of all I was quite hesitant to try a blade without arylate or carbon... cause my former test were not very successful :

Kong Linghui (Euro - 7 plys)  : too fast, not the Kong Linghui touch I liked
Stiga OC  : a lot of crisp vibration...weird for me.

After 1 week of training,  this blade is very nice and confortable. I'm not a lot perturbed from the transition from  KLHS. The control is very better and much more forgiving. More dwell time  and easy play feeling despite I'm not a beginner.
I play with a 999 Blue Lucifer and Nittaku Hammond Pro B.

This blade intend to be used for looping and block for close play.
The speed is slower compare with the KLH.

I'm currently very happy with it, I keep my KLHS for the futur when I will be able to gain more power with less fault.

Never try the Avalox P500 but I recommend the Butterfly Kong Linghui FL even in 2011 !
